Use onRun with Claude and ChatGPT
Ask your AI assistant to find group runs, races and clubs near you, and to save your spot in free group runs, without leaving the conversation.
Connect your assistant
onRun works with any AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The connection address is:
https://onrun.com/api/mcp
Claude
Open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, and paste the address above. Once onRun is listed in Claude’s connector directory, you can add it from there instead.
ChatGPT
Once onRun is listed in ChatGPT’s app directory, search for onRun under Apps and connect it. Until then, you can add it as a custom app with developer mode turned on, using the address above.
Signing in
When you connect, the assistant opens an onRun sign-in page. After you sign in, onRun shows what the assistant is asking for, and nothing is shared until you approve it. You never give the assistant your onRun password.
What the assistant can do
Once you approve it, the assistant can search public group runs, races and clubs, and it can:
- see your name, username and profile photo;
- see the group runs you have joined or are on the waitlist for;
- join free group runs, or their waitlists, for you, and cancel those spots.
It never sees your email address, password, phone number or payment details. It can only act for you, never for a friend or another runner.
Paid group runs
An assistant can’t pay for anything. For a paid group run it gives you a link, and you review the price and pay on onRun yourself. Refunds and cancelling a paid spot also happen on onRun. If an assistant ever asks for your card details, don’t share them.
Try asking
- “Find free group runs in Austin this weekend.”
- “Sign me up for the Saturday morning run with Downtown Runners.”
- “Which group runs am I signed up for?”
- “Cancel my spot for Thursday's run.”
- “What half marathons are in Chicago this spring?”
Disconnect at any time
We notify you whenever a new app connects to your account. To remove one, go to Connected apps in your settings; it loses access straight away. Group runs it already joined for you stay booked until you cancel them.
